Postpartum Health Check: Your Body, Your Recovery

Introduction

The Mummy MOT is a specialized postnatal assessment designed for women who have recently given birth, whether vaginally or by C-section. It’s an excellent way to check your recovery starting from six to eight weeks postpartum, but it can also be incredibly beneficial for those who gave birth years ago. This assessment provides you with the information you need to safely return to exercise, support your ongoing recovery, and improve your overall well-being.

What the Assessment Includes

  • Posture Assessment: A full evaluation to see how your body has adapted to the changes of pregnancy and childbirth.
  • Pelvic Floor and Abdominal Muscle Exams: This includes a check for any separation of the abdominal muscles, known as Diastasis Recti.
  • Screening for Common Concerns: We will discuss and screen for any issues you may be experiencing with bladder, bowel, or sexual function.
  • Optional Internal Pelvic Floor Exam: This is a safe and optional part of the assessment, performed only with your full consent. Your comfort is always the top priority. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns you have about this part of the exam.
